Three Sunday Summer Meetings Remaining
We’ll meet Sundays July 21st, 28th and August 4th then take a late summer break. We will restart in the fall–keep your eyes open for a posting about the exact date when we start up again.
For these three Sundays, join us for postcards (1000 done for Schiebert-Hurrah!–now big stack for Salas), letter-writing, snacks, updates on our central campaigns and good cheer. Regular place, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Need some focus?
Today (Sunday July 14, 3:00-5:00) we will listen in on an important discussion on voter persuasion, finish the Arizona postcards (hurrah!) and turn to CA 22. Snacks and friends, both much needed.
Work party July 7, 3:00–5:00
Our goal is to finish the Arizona postcards.
Work party this Sunday, 3:00–5:00
We persist.
Work Party Sunday, bonus candidate visit Monday
We still have a few left out of the 1000 postcards we are writing for AZ State Senate candidate Judy Schwiebert (website). OK, more than a few. Work party 3:00–5:00, usual place.
Also: Monday, June 24, 10:00 a.m., Dem hopeful Monica Tranel (website) will be at our standard meeting place. She is running in MT–01 against the odious Ryan Zinke. Lean/Likely Republican seat, the type we need to flip. Please let me know if you want to attend (not a ticketed event, no donation required), so I know how many donuts to order. Too early in the day for pretzels and chips.
Work Party this Sunday 3:00-5:00
We have 1,000 (yes, one thousand) postcards to write for Arizona so we’ll be working this Sunday 3:00-5:00 usual place. I also have a short report about phone-banking and we’ll have letters as well. Andy will offer an update and we have some extra swag to share. Bring a friend. We’ll have the pens, snacks and drinks.
PS If anyone has postcard stamps, those are welcome.
No Meeting Sunday June 9th
Too many political events we need to attend. We’ll start again on June 16th, same time, same place. Reminder emails will be sent out next week. Meanwhile be well. Keep calm and write postcards.
Meeting/Open House for action this Sunday, 3:00–5:00
Pursuant to the Indivisible Elmwood by-laws, champagne will be served.
(Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, too.)
Those of you who wish to phone bank, please bring your laptops. (I don’t know if a tablet will work.) We will also have postcards. We are working for, among others, Judy Schwiebert (AZ Senate–02).
Snap analysis: The Trump die-hards are incensed almost beyond description. Even Susan Collins, coward that she is, found it necessary to condemn the unfair treatment of her Orange Man of Sorrows. They are putting their objections in the language of “rigged” juries and incorrect instructions from the judge, but their hearts speak of the prosecutors, judge, and jurors as Satanic agents. For the ordinary voter holding more orthodox religious views, of any religion, I don’t see this as helping Trump at all.
Indivisible Elmwood Springs Into Action
Starting this Sunday we will be hosting action meetings every week from 3:00-5:00 pm through the end of May, June and July. We will have postcarding, Vote Forward letters and phone banking opportunities. At 4:00 Andy will offer an election update (other members will also give their updates as per needed since there is lots going on).
Snacks and encouragement, of course. Everyone is welcome to arrive and leave as per their schedule and availability. To help us plan, please RSVP on a Saturday for any Sunday you intend to stop by.
Feel free to share this information with other people looking to get active this spring. Or bring someone along.
